BOOKMARK BONANZA!
How to Do Watercolor Painting with Salt
As I began planning this week’s E-Musings, I perused my collection of “bookmarked” websites on my computer for ideas. Here’s what came up right away:
Recipe for Homemade Yodels/List of Movies with “Return” in the Title, Ranked/Yarn Wrapped Spring Flowers Craft/ Have Aliens Found Us?/Youth Group Games for Palm Sunday/ Bring Back Eisenhower Socialism/Perfectly Toned Arms in Seven Days/ The 10 Longest Commercial Nonstop Flights in the World/How to Make Sugared Cranberries
Aside from being a really disturbing look into my brain, that odd amalgam of info was no help. Consider yourself fortunate that I went in another direction…
ENCORES: “ON THE ROAD WITH STEVE HARTMAN” AND “TRACK STAR*”
I’ve shared videos from these sources before. Here are two more feel-great segments…
ARCHITECTURE (YES!) : ADORABLE NESTING HUTS—THEY’RE JUST DUCKY!
These cuties were ingeniously designed to house and protect the ducks who live on a pond in Taiwan. We’ll be in Taipei in November…wonder if we can pop by?

STORY TIME!
The other day, my dear friend Holly shared the video, The Three Questions, read by the incomparable Meryl Streep, and I immediately knew I wanted to pass it along to you all. As I watched more of this wonderful series, I wanted to share another one, but which? Lots of candidates (Seth Meyers even reads a nifty children’s book he wrote himself), but actor Jeffrey Wright (who, as the saying goes, I’d enjoy hearing read the phone book—kids, go ask your parents what a phone book is:-) got my nod for his tender rendition of Going Down Home with Daddy. I invite you to mosey on over to “Storyline Online” and check them ALL out.
A SEYFRIED SAMPLER
The Seyfrieds have ALWAYS been busy bees! I went back into the archives and unearthed:
SONG: “Grab Five” by Rose Seyfried
The first track on Rose’s 2013 EP “Advocate,” and I think it’s a really nice showcase for her talent as singer/songwriter/electronic musician.
MUSIC: “Mad Jack’s Revenge” by Sheridan Seyfried
Sheridan wrote this fun, video-game inspired piece waaaay back in 2005, for the instrumental ensemble Brass Engine. Give it a listen!
Mad Jack’s Revenge (2005) For Brass Ensemble
FILM CLIP: LONELY, featuring Steve Seyfried
A more recent venture; this poignant movie premiered just last year. I love this scene, with Steve and his co-star Sandra Flagstad as two lonely seniors embarking on a relationship…
BOOK READING: “Be Here Now” from UNHALING by Elise Seyfried
You probably don’t need to be told that this video goes back a few years, when I was a mere slip of a 54 year old girl, reading a story about my Zen master, Patrick, from my first essay collection…
BLOG PREVIEW: LETTING THEM
Mel Robbins isn’t the only one “letting them” these days! I am too. Sometimes. Well, I did once. I think.
INSPIRATIONAL QUOTATION OF THE WEEK:
For obvious reasons, writers find this particular quote inspiring. But the nugget—that humans were designed to share things, thoughts, ideas and opinions—holds true for everyone. It’s my philosophy for this newsletter, in a nutshell! Have a wonderful week, dear readers!
